Books by Nguyen Nhat Anh reprinted on first day of sale

On the 9th of December, Tre Publishing House officially put on the market the latest book by Nguyen Nhat Anh called “Tôi thấy hoa vàng trên cỏ xanh" (I see yellow flowers on green grass). The book was printed on two kinds of paper. 15,000 copies had soft covers while 2,000 other copies had hard covers.



The copies with a hard cover were printed on a very special kind of paper, so they are light in weight. This is the kind of paper that was used abroad for printing the original copies of Harry Potter. Tre Publishing House said it wouldn’t reprint the book with a hard cover. It said those 2,000 copies were products to mark the first edition of the book.

Before the books were published, in addition to the copies with a soft cover, Fahasa placed order of 500 hard-cover copies but when the book was officially introduced, Fahasa asked to buy all the hard-cover copies in stock. Other publishers also quickly bought all the remaining soft-cover copies. As a result, all the 17,000 copies of the book were sold out on the first day on the market.

On the 9th afternoon of December, Tre Publishing House decided to print another 10,000 copies to meet the requirements of the next orders. Reprinting a book on its first day of sale became a record in the publishing history of Tre Publishing House. The second edition will contain some small changes. Information from such publishers like Fahasa, Phuong Nam and Nhan Van all showed that readers are very interested in the story and a large number have been bought. According to a publisher’s representative, it is very likely that the book will be reprinted again.

From 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. on the 12th of December, writer Nguyen Nhat Anh will be at Tre Publishing House at 161B Ly Chinh Thang Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City to sign autographs for interested readers. Also, on the 11th and 12th of December, at such book stores as Fahasa, Phuong Nam, Nhan Van, Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Tri Tue book and educational equipment Co., and the book store of Tre Publishing House, 23 titles by Nguyen Nhat Anh previously published by Tre Publishing House will be sold at a 30% discount (The discount is not applied to Tôi là Bêtô (I am Beto), Cho tôi xin một vé đi tuổi thơ (Give me a ticket to childhood), Đảo mộng mơ (Dreamy Island) and Tôi thấy hoa vàng trên cỏ xanh(I see yellow flowers on green grass).
