Writer Nguyen Nhat Anh signs autographs till he almost… faints

At a book fair in Ho Chi Minh City on March 20, writer Nguyễn Nhật Ánh met readers on the occasion of the recent publication of his latest book Dream Island.

The meeting started at 9a.m. and thirty minutes later teenage readers flocked to ask the writer to sign autographs in the books they had just bought.

He signed and signed till 12:30 when his hand was very tired and he was wet with sweat.

Perhaps it was lunch time and scorching hot and the teenage readers were very hungry, so they all left for home, otherwise Nguyễn Nhật Ánh would have signed till fainting!

Twelve thousand copies of Dream Island, the latest book by Nguyễn Nhật Ánh, were printed. 10,000 copies had soft covers and 2,000 had hard covers. They sold out fast at the book fair.

The Tre Publishing House and Dong A Book Company have said they will reprint 5,000 copies of the book next week.
